Ten Providence students were honored with special writing awards at the MidCarolina Region Writing Awards for the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
Joseph Chong, a sophomore, and Abigail Scheper, a senior, won the American Voices Award for their poetry. They will now compete for this award at the national level. Hannah Magraw, a junior, won the Governor's Award and the Adam's Outdoor Billboard Award. Her work will be featured at the Governor's Mansion this spring and on a billboard here in the Charlotte Region. Ten students won Gold Medals. Their work is currently in New York City being judged at the national level.
