The National Scholastic Press Association named Roars and Whispers a Pacemaker Winner at the spring National High School Journalism Convention in Seattle, Washington. The Pacemaker is the oldest and most prestigious award in scholastic journalism. Only seven schools received this honor. Roars and Whispers has won the award three times and has been named a finalist six times.
