Congratulations to Roars and Whispers Literary Magazine for winning a Silver Crown from Columbia Scholastic Press Association! The Crown Awards honor top student publications chosen from CSPA’s members. Crowns are selected for overall excellence in a head-to-head comparison. Student publishing in news, magazine, yearbook or digital (online) formats are all-eligible. During Crown consideration, publications are judged on their excellence as shown by their design, photography, concept, coverage and writing. A total of 852 publications were eligible for judging. Roars and Whispers has won eight Crown Awards since 2010.
Roars and Whispers has also been named a Pacemaker Finalist by the National Scholastic Press Association. Only 17 magazines are named finalists in the Pacemaker competition, one of the oldest and most prestigious awards in scholastic journalism. Final awards will be announced April 10th. Roars and Whispers has been a Pacemaker Finalist nine times, winning five.
