Emma Carter, a PHS junior and Art Editor for the literary magazine, received the Governor's Award for Writing in Raleigh on April 17, 2017. The First Lady of North Carolina, Kristin Cooper, gave out the awards to students at the Governor's Mansion. Only six students from the state were honored, and Emma was the only student honored for her writing.
