Roars and Whispers Literary Magazine has been awarded its fifth Pacemaker Award from the National Scholastic Press Association. Honoring the nation’s best, the National Scholastic Press Association selected only eight winners from the finalists in its prestigious Pacemaker competition.
“The Pacemaker is the association’s preeminent award,” said Laura Widmer, executive director. “NSPA is honored to recognize the best of the best.” Pacemaker winners represent the top 10 percent of the entries. The magazines were published during the 2017-18 school year. Winners were announced at the national convention in Anaheim, CA on April 27, 2019. Congratulations to the five Literary Magazine students who were selected for the National Scholastic Press Association's 2019 Journalism Honor Roll. The achievement recognizes students for staying focused on their academic career, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, as well as balancing the rigors of being active on our media staff for two or more years.
A complete list of inductees will be printed in next year's Best of the High School Press and on the NSPA website. left to right: Charlotte Beck, junior Ellie Cotton, junior Gayatri Chopra, senior Abigail Welch, junior Bhavana Veeravalli, junior (not pictured) |
